‘What could I ‘remind’ them, that was the question in my mind.. Then after a while I realize that, I’m censoring myself, and couldn’t look their eyes…What they read from my body, about me, about them selfs.. How can it be difficult to be happy or get used to unhappiness? To be free inside… My heart beats rapidly…’
(This solo performance created reflections from, meetings and workshops which she lead in prisons. 'Stones vs. Birds' as a project to be continued in other prison and society for the protection of children in Istanbul 2012-2013.)

Tugce Tuna’s develops a wide range of representational forms incorporating body, space and concept in response to the diverse contexts of her projects. Common to all her works is the consideration of the body as ”the space in which one lives and practices ones own politics”.
Tugce Tuna is a mover, body-reader, choreographer, interdisciplinary performer, contemporary dance artist and academic. She has been working in many capacities and many contexts both in Turkey and internationally since 1993 including numerous international festivals, organizations etc.
Also teaching Europe, in Istanbul, she has been teaching at MSFAU Performing Arts Department since 1996 as an Assoc. Professor, and as guest faculty member of SEAD-Salzburg since 2002.
Tuna has produced her own work as “RemDans” since 2001.
In the summer/ autumn of 2012, Tuna accomplished DAAD scholarship in Germany.
She was born in Belguim, lives in Istanbul.
