MAKİN. B.D.N / MACHIN. BODY
MACHIN. BODY
16th. International İstanbul Theatre Festival
When I saw the Energy museum, the thing that affected me wasn't just the fact that these old, large machines programmed to produce still challenged us with their existence, at the same time it haunted me to see how these machines brought the past with them. We are next to the skeleton and the non-operating bodies of a huge system, which was established to produce energy at the time. Our warmth warms them up too. The matters that are left between human body and machinery interest me very much. Only time and energy is left alone among partitions of iron-skin, blood-engine oil, cable-artery, breath-area, hot-cold, ceasestandby,corrosion- aging and immobility-movement. I watch the flow of energy just before I decide. This interpenetration moves inside my head: Machine body, body machine... The body in need of the machine, a machine which cannot be formed without reason..."
